Testicular Cancer Screening & Testicular Cancer Test

We offer testicular cancer screening for examination – and private referral for an ultrasound for testicular lumps and testicular cancer symptoms. There are various causes of symptoms, such as testicular pain and/or lumps. Most of these lumps are benign but should be examined and treated. Cancer of the testicles normally affects young men aged between 20 and 55. However, seek medical advice if you suffer any symptoms, no matter what your age.

If you feel a lump or would just like peace of mind, please contact our clinic for a testicular cancer screening appointment. You will have a consultation and examination, and if necessary an urgent referral for a testicular cancer test can be arranged.

Prostate Assessments & Health

Prostate cancer is the second most common cause of death by cancer and the most common cancer in men in the UK. One of the main factors increasing the likelihood of developing prostate cancer is age. Early symptoms of prostate cancer do vary but the most common ones include having to rush to the toilet to pass urine, difficulty passing urine, blood in the urine or passing urine more often – especially at night.

We encourage those aged 40+ or with a family history of prostate cancer to have regular checks and Prostate Assessments. At Glasgow Medical Rooms we offer medical examinations and blood tests to help understand and manage your risk of prostate cancer. The test is a specific antigen test. If you are interested in having this prostate cancer risk assessment, please avoid ejaculation for 48 hours before taking the test.

Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile Dysfunction is a very common condition – around half of all men aged between 40 and 70 will experience it at some point. It can usually be a symptom of a wider health problem, which makes it all the more important to investigate the cause with an experienced doctor. It is important to seek advice about your ED treatment and Dr O’Neill is experienced in dealing with erectile and sexual dysfunction. A number of treatment options are available to you, including prescribed medication, referral for private psychosexual counselling which can be done in-house, or specialist private referrals for more complex cases.

I would like to thank Dr O’Neill very much for her time today: I get the impression that she is a very caring professional, knowledgeable and reassuring, and that she makes explaining conditions crystal clear, which is exactly what is needed for an anxious patient like myself. The staff that I met were all extremely welcoming, well-groomed and helpful too. Add to this the very relaxing and beautifully scented ambience and it was really a truly positive and pleasant visit. Thank you.

Linnea Blair

“I have had persistent neck and shoulder discomfort for some time. Regular visits to my local GP did not help. I was recommended to see Dr Sheila O’Neil who gave me a check-up and recommended that I see her physiotherapist colleague, Vicky Graham. I have had three sessions of physiotherapy and have regained full mobility in my neck and shoulders and feel a great deal better. I am very grateful to Dr Sheila and expect, with my husband, to sign up with her as regular patients.”

Mrs Johnston

We took our 2 year old son in to see Dr O’Neill for a meningitis B vaccination recently. Due to shortages of the vaccine, we had been on a waiting list with a well-known high street pharmacist for months without knowing when they would get stock in. We came across Glasgow Medical Rooms who had the vaccination and we managed to get our son booked in the next day. The clinic was very smart and easy to access in the city centre too. Dr O’Neill was great at dealing with our toddler. It was a relief to get the jabs sorted so quickly and would highly recommend the service to others.”

Mrs Crawford

“Dr. Sheila O’Neill and her team quite literally saved my life. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Diagnosis of a serious condition that had been misdiagnosed by three hospitals took less than 2 weeks, including an MRI. Setting aside the professionalism, they are also just extremely nice people. Imagine a GP that truly cares and will be calling the patient after hours to see how they are getting on – that is what I got from Dr. Sheila O’Neill. There are no superlatives that adequately describe the service. Great. Fantastic. Superb.”

GMK Group

I have used GMR on 3 occasions, 2 because I was worried about my health and once for a routine medical. On the 2 occasions I was concerned I was seen within hours on the same day, having determined that I should see a consultant the doctor called my insurance provider whilst I sat in front of her and made the necessary noises to make sure I would see the right consultant. On both occasions, she knew the consultants personally and persuaded them to see me right away, on the first occasion that night and on the second first thing the next day.
