DVLA/D4 Medicals

DVLA

Glasgow Medical Rooms are approved to carry out medicals for the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency.

We will receive a request from the DVLA to contact the drivers to have them attend our practice for their appointment.

The medical includes the completion of a questionnaire by the driver and the GP. You will also need to do a urine or blood sample.

If you have been asked to attend another practice for this medical but are unable to get an appointment within the allotted time then we can help. Contact the practice to ensure that we have availability then contact the DVLA to redirect your medical to us.

Please note we cannot book in DVLA medicals without paperwork.

D4/HGV Medicals

A D4 medical, also known as a “Group 2 Medical,” is a driver medical examination required for professional drivers in the UK. The medical is designed to ensure that drivers are fit to operate vehicles safely and responsibly

The D4 medical is an examination that consists of an eyesight test using a snellen chart, blood pressure checks to ensure your BP meets the given criteria, and a questionnaire regarding your medical history.

We ask that drivers attend an optician before making an appointment with one of our GPs.

We took our 2 year old son in to see Dr O’Neill for a meningitis B vaccination recently. Due to shortages of the vaccine, we had been on a waiting list with a well-known high street pharmacist for months without knowing when they would get stock in. We came across Glasgow Medical Rooms who had the vaccination and we managed to get our son booked in the next day. The clinic was very smart and easy to access in the city centre too. I have used GMR on 3 occasions, 2 because I was worried about my health and once for a routine medical. On the 2 occasions I was concerned I was seen within hours on the same day, having determined that I should see a consultant the doctor called my insurance provider whilst I sat in front of her and made the necessary noises to make sure I would see the right consultant. On both occasions, she knew the consultants personally and persuaded them to see me right away, on the first occasion that night and on the second first thing the next day.

I used GMR for travel vaccinations which involved significant leg work on behalf of GMR staff - Ruth, Rebecca, Colin, Laura and Nicola - such as talking to third parties about my vaccinations and ordering in vaccines. GMR managed to fit me in for 6 vaccinations, one of which involved 3 doses, in the space of a month, at very short notice.All the staff are super friendly, professional, hard-working and efficient. Exceptional! :)

Such welcoming and thorough staff. I arrived half an hour early and enjoyed coffee in the comfortable waiting room. Dr O'Neil was lovely. So easy to get to from Central Station too. I'll be using Glasgow Medical Rooms again and would recommend them.

This is the second time I have visited GMR & the whole experience was just as good as the first. Dr O’Neill was friendly & made me feel at ease right away. The examination was carried out professionally & competently & although I need a second appointment I feel a bit more relaxed about it.

Top notch care from Chris Wicks (Physiotherapist).He has been absolutely fantastic also considerate and very careful following my neck injury from a car accident and has made sure that i am being well looked after!If you require physiotherapy this is the place to go!

Been having a medical issue and after a Google search I found this practice very close to my hotel. From appearance at first I thought I was in the wrong place because it seemed to me that it was upmarket. I was fearful that I would be sent to the public hospital but I have to wait 45 minutes to see a doctor. The girl on reception was very helpful. Very comfortable seating. And an offer of coffee or tea, not something I have been offered by other practices.
