During the appointment, a small sample of cells will be taken from your cervix and tested for HPV and any abnormal cell changes to help detect problems early and reduce the risk of cervical cancer. The appointment takes less than 30 minutes, and results are typically available within 2–3 weeks. If you have symptoms such as unusual vaginal discharge, pain, bleeding between periods, or bleeding after sex, please contact the practice before booking.

Please select this appointment if you require an ML5 medical examination. This assessment is for individuals working on board ships or yachts and is required to demonstrate medical fitness for work at sea. During the appointment, the doctor will review your medical history and carry out a physical examination, including checks such as blood pressure, hearing, colour vision, height and weight, and general physical and mental health. Your completed ML5 medical certificate is valid for up to two years, depending on your age and medical history.
